HELP!! Sept 22 public transportation strike, no taxi, no metro, no bus?
HELP!
I am arriving to Piraeus Port tomorrow at 19:45 by Blue Star Ithaki Ferry from Mykonos and need to be transferred to Hotel Grande Bretagne. My hotel said there is public transportation strike tomorrow that includes taxi, bus, metro, railway and they will offer transfer for 110 euros. That is too much money for me. Can anyone please provide me with an alternative cheaper way to get to the hotel?
Thanks

As you are going to the GB it's bound to be one of the more expensive transfers. I would try & speak to people on board (they've all got to get somewhere after disembarking) & find anyone that is going to Syntagma area. They may be staying at a cheaper hotel that I would hope wouldn't take such a massive advantage of the strike, 110 euros is ridiculous. At the worst get someone to share the 110 euros.
Try booking on here, private car or shuttle bus,

I would do it quickly though, everyone will need these sort of people tomorrow!

yiassas.. there are no shuttle busses in Greece, as the law doesn't allow them yet....
This will be allowed soon, as a result of all the changes that are dictated by the famous troica...
This was also one of the reasons why taxi owners went on strike last month....

Clausar, I think it's just the description they use in English, some are offered on the islands from airports described that way too. More like a booked minibus I think as opposed to set runs, something lost in translation! The car option sounds good for them though through the same site.

Just watched news on Greek TV. Ktel Attikis coatches are hired from Greek state to serve tourists arriving on Athens AIRport. I opened TV while reportage had started, so possibly the same applies for Piraeus port, although I didn't heared this.
