HELP! Rome or Pisa (Tuscany)

My husband and I live in Germany and we're planning a quick trip to Italy for the Labor Day weekend. We have just three days (2-6 SEP), so I'm wondering if Rome might be a better choice than Tuscany... as Pisa/Florence is more suited to an extended road trip? Any insight is truly appreciated!
Best regards, Christine

Hi chris,

Have you been to Venice?

If not, that is my suggestion.

Thanks for the speedy response! My husband's been to Venice so I'd like to try something new for both of us. If I had to choose between the two... you'd recommend...?

I would choose Rome although I would really like to go to go back to Florence too.One of my favorite views is that of the old city from the hill above at Fiesole.Pisa itself is only worth a short visit to see the tower and cathedral but in the same area you can find several magical smaller towns like Siena.Rome is one of the world`s great cities and if you are interested in history, art and wonderful buildings it is simply superb.

Thanks, all, for your replies! We've decided on ROME for Labor Day. Can't beat the RyanAir prices... 100 euros ea/RT. Now we just have to find a hotel...!
Thanks much, I'll try to post a quick trip report upon our return.
NEXT TRIP: Sharm al Sheik (and then perhaps Venice in the spring!)
