Okay, I have resisted answering this as it isn't travel related but the OP sure is persistent!
The best removal company I have dealt with in London is Britannia (http://www.britannia-movers.co.uk/) – great customer service, very helpful, non-complaining removers. They aren't the cheapest company, but would be my preferred choice if price wasn't the only deciding factor.

Britannia Movers can be found at http://www.britannia-movers.co.uk/.
I have no personal experience of the firm, but understand that they are a joint venture consisting of many different independent companies using a common trading name, a bit like BestWestern. They presumably all try to work to a common standard, and can be thrown out if they do not match up.
We have moved several times in England, and usually approach a number of local firms gathered from Yellow Pages and personal observation. Recommendations from friends can also be helpful. Invite the firms round to give you a quotation, and find out if they can do the work on the day you want. Prices will vary between companies, and are an indication of the difficulty of the job and the firm's availability - business can be slow for one company, while another can have more than they can handle.
