Help on Marseille to Digne Christmas Eve

I am trying to figure out the best way to get to Digne on Christmas Eve...I will be arriving at Marseille airport (scheduled) at 14:10. My daughter, living in Toulon, needs to meet up with me, and together we hope to make it up to Digne for the evening. It appears that it makes the most sense for me to take the airport shuttle bus from the Marseille airport to the Aix bus station. ( As opposed to me taking the shuttle to the Marseille bus station ST. Charles ) It seems like backtracking to me, but I'm unsure of the bus schedules. If all else fails, - any advice on a one way car rental would be appreciated!

Well, if you can get to the St. Charles station, the train is only 10E's to Toulon and less than an hour travel.

Buses from the Marseille airport to the Aix TGV station and the Aix bus station leave at 25 minutes and 55 minutes past the hour.

The bahn.de site shows a bus leaving for Digne from the Aix TGV station at 14:40 (which you obviously won't be able to catch). The next bus leaves at 20:25.

Train service from Marseille to Aix has been suspended--at least that's what I just read--while work is done on the tracks and signs. This may apply to the TGV line or the regular line, or possibly both. Check the sncf site to be sure this information, which I found on another travel site, is correct.

In case anyone ever has this question, thought I would post our solution! There was a bus leaving ST Charles station in Marseille directly to Digne les Bains at about 5:30 pm. Unfortunately it was winter so most of the ride as we got into the mountains was dark but it was a comfortable two hours or so ride to the city center. ( I flew into Marseille, took a short bus from the airport to ST Charles station ( right outside the front door, can't miss it ))
