Help needed to find a site in Germany

Many years ago, whilst camping in Germany we visited what I can only describe as a waterfall of rocks. No water, just a valley filled with rocks. You could climb on them, or walk up the valley next to them.
I believe it was near Worms but can't be certain. It also was connected to the legends Wagner based the Ring Cycle on, I think.

Anyone have an idea what I am on about and where it is?
