Help me with Dali and Costa Brava itinerary from Barcelona

Jump to last reply

Hi, we'll be in Barcelona for 7 nights this November, and have chosen to spend 2 nights in Girona so that we can spend time at the various Dali sites. We will have a car, so want to make the visit as enjoyable as we can, given that the weather might not be perfect.

I chose Girona instead of Figueres because I understand that Girona in itself is a beautiful town and I thought we could easily spend a day just there. We enjoy towns, culture, great food, strolling around. Also thought it would be better to be in a city if it's rainy.

So, I thought we'd drive up from BCN in the morning to Girona, check into our hotel and explore. The next day, day 2, we'd go up to Figueras and go to the Museum there and the Museum-House in Port Lligat, and see Cadaques.

Then we'd end up that night back at Girona, and depending on the weather, spend day 3 driving down the coast back to BCN, stopping at Tossa and probably Arenys. We'll make the stop at Pubol optional, depending on how we feel at the time.

But I realize there are lots of beautiful places where we could make a stop--on the way up to Girona, between museum visits on day 2, and coming home from Girona on day 3. I've got a whole list of nice-sounding places which sound fabulous, like the Empuries archeological site, and towns like: Begur, Pals, Vic, Palafrugell, etc. all which sound like places to make a stop.

So perhaps you friendly, helpful people could firstly tell me I'm doing the right in basing ourselves in Girona, and perhaps give me some route and itinerary suggestions that fit in with our main agenda, which is to see the Dali museums and Girona.

Thanks!
