Help me make this possible!

I will be in Spain Oct 6 to 26. I fly into and out of Madrid. Upon arrival on the 6th I will take the train to Cordoba where I will stay for 2 nights. From there I have 3 days to plan before arriving in Seville on the 11th. I have my heart set on staying in Ronda, but now I have just discovered Gaucin. I am in love!! Also the Hotel Fructuosa, wow. Problem is how to get to these two towns. I do not drive. I know I can take the bus to Ronda, and from what I'm reading there is one bus a day to Gaucin. So, do I go from Cordoba to Ronda first, spend a night, then a bus to Gaucin for 2 nights. Or, go to Gaucin first, but how? I see there is a train, but it doesn't go all the way to Gaucin and there is no taxi service from the station to Gaucin. Haven't contacted the hotel yet, maybe they could arrange a driver to pick me up. Which town will be easiest to get to Seville from? Hope those familiar with this area can help me figure out transportation options. I am spending 6 days in Seville before flying to Marrakesh for 3 nights!! Yay!! Then flying to Madrid where I will spend 5 nights with a day trip to Toledo. I'm very excited for this trip. I've been to Northern Spain a couple times, so it will be wonderful to see the beauty of the south. Bonus, Marrakesh!! Thanks.

Don't hate me, but nope. Maybe on another trip. Booked Hotel San Francisco in Ronda for three nights. Hoping to do a day trip to Gaucin and maybe some walking tours/hikes in that area now.

well, if you did wnt to go there, there is a bus from Ronda to Gaucin, only costs a few euro

you're right, it is only once a day, I think not every day, either. You'd hve to take a taxi, it's about 25 miles

Ronda is worth a half day visit. Look for Ekscrunchy's trip report. Believe she stayed in Gaucin and it wasn't worth even half a day. Go to Granada !

I agree, Ronda is worth a half day or maximum a day trip, charming at night with street lights on. You can easily do a day trip to Arcos de la Frontera- by bus, or you may also go to Malaga by bus or by train. But of course Granada will be the best choice.

I'm not going to knock your decision. not all of us want to do the 'must do's' that have been designed over time. Maybe you are a slow traveler and don't want cities all the time. Maybe you house an inner el Greco and will wander out of Ronda, find a comfortable rocky perch and paint a masterpiece (el Greco's famous landscape of Toledo http://www.ibiblio.org/wm/paint/auth/greco/toledo.jpg).
Hopefully you'll provide a short trip report when you come back and let us know how you enjoyed Gaucin. See if it would appeal to others.
