Good afternoon all, I am in need of some advice ;
Myself and 6 pals are off to Hamburg in September for 3 days, and I would like to ask if anyone can recommend what is the best part of the city to stay, We want to go out for a drink in the evening but also want to see some of the sights during the day.
So if anyone can help we would appreciate it, thanks

With the caveat that it's been a few years since I was there, I'd definitely recommend the Altona neighborhood. One of the things my partner and I liked best about it was the area's bars and cafes in the evenings. They were buzzing with locals and laid-back at the same time; we never felt particularly like we were outsiders.
From Altona, it was very easy to take the s-bahn train into the main part of the city during the day, as well as to venture out to other cities (which you probably wouldn't do with only 3 days!). We did spend one night hanging out on the Reeperbahn; if I remember correctly, we stayed out all night and grabbed breakfast at the early-morning fish market...
I would advice you to look for a place to stay somewhere near to Reeperbahn . Because as per my experience that is the most happening street in Hamburg.
