Help ... bus from Cappadocia (Kayseri) to Antalya or Fethiye

I plan to take a route from Istanbul(A) -- Cappadocia/Kayseri (B) -- Antalya (C) -- Izmir (D) -- Istanbul (A) in May for 16 nights.

But I'm stuck on two things:

#1. Other than flight from A to B and D to A, I'd like to rent a car from C to D.
I found the night bus from B to C, arrive at 4am. What to do from there? I cannot do car rental, hotel check-in or anything... I see common route is the other way around: A -D-C-B-A. I wonder if there is a reason.

#2. I'd like to minimize the driving but still want to take some easy scenic coastline drive and stop at Pamukkale and Selcuk, what's the best arrangement for the 6-night? Should I take a night bus to Fethiye instead? Is it convenient to rent a car at a reasonable price there or I have to get it from a city like Antalya?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I would do A-B-D-C-A, fly from Kayseri to Izmir, and either rent a car at Izmir airport to be droped off at Antalya airport (check http://www.economycarrentals.com/ for prices), or take the bus from Selçuk-Pamukkale-Fethiye and rent a car locally in Fethiye for the drive along the coast to Antalya, here's a popular local travel agent that seems to have reasonable car prices - http://www.tinyakropol.com/rentacar.asp - I don't know what the drop-off fee for Antalya would be, but I guess not much from Fethiye.

Thanks Croesus. I did consider it after getting all your input. But I found that there were few direct flights available... one by Pegasus, arrive at 6pm.. it's tight if trying to rent a car and get to Selcuk. Or, I have to consider the flight with 1 stop, using the morning of the day to exchange some extra time after arriving...

In addition, if driving in that area won't be too troublesome compare to catching buses to different sites, I'd go with car from D to C all the way for the freedom in pacing ourselves..

18:00 arrival at Izmir airport wouldn't really be a problem, it's an easy 45min-1hr drive to Selçuk. Then you could visit Ephesus in the morning and be in Pamukkale quite easily that evening (3 hour drive from Selçuk to Pamukkale). You could probably take in Aphrodisias as well along the way.

Sounds perfect if considering everything goes smoothly on time... I wish to leave some 'room' so not get stressed out in case being late and get dark, and hard to find the hotel in Selcuk.. how the rental being handled there at the airport if not the same in USA?

Since the Cappadocia-Antalya flights arrive in the middle of the night, I'd say take the Izmir flight instead. You can always get a transfer to your hotel in Selçuk if necessary, but, really, I wouldn't worry about the drive from Izmir airport to Selçuk. Just make sure you get a motorway toll card from the rental company, it's dead easy.

Your alternative from Cappdocia-Antalya involves either a 01:00 arrival by plane or a 08:00 arrival by overnight bus - neither of which would be much fun.

With all the help I got from this site, I finally settled my plan:
A: 2-night,
morning flight (by Pegasus) to B: 3-night (may rent a car for a day),
morning flight (by Sunexpress) to D: 7-night ( rent a car to Selcuk, Pamukkale, Fethiye, Kas, Cirali(?), to C ),
noon flight to A: 4-night,
and flight home.

I'll write a report after my trip to share with you all.

Thanks again!

Sincerely

Glander

Sounds good. That's a better arrival time at İzmir.

If you find a transfer company after arriving in Antalya they will reach you to Fethiye at reasonable prices.

Do not go into any kind of car rental. When you arrive in Antalya, there are transfer companies around the airport. They receive a service from a transfer company and provide you with safe access to the zones you will visit at very reasonable prices.

You plan looks good, I believe you fly to Kayseri. As Cappadocia Airports (NAV) will be closed for repair and adding another facility for 5 months from 1st May 2017.Otherwise there were direct flights 4-5 days a week to Izmir and Antalya as well.

Once you arrive to Kayseri if you will rent a car for one day and planning to drop in Cappadocia you will probably pay for a drop charge. Your other options are, book a shuttle before arrival or take a transfer to Cappadocia and hire the car there unless you keep all 3 day and return at airport before Sun Express flight.

Proportion of your day allocations look good and I am sure you will enjoy your time in Turkey.

all our clients’ needs. Considering your budget and preferred modes of transmission, we provide all kinds of vehicles to suit the functionality you desire. What’s more, we assure you that the cars we offer are the best in the rental market today.

diesel automatic rental cars. These are cars that use diesel oil instead of gasoline for their fueling. The main advantage of these cars is that they have a better fuel economy. This means that they use lesser fuel for the same distance traveled as compared to a car running on gasoline. Some of these diesel cars can improve fuel mileage by 20% or more. Get that large, powerful engine feel with a diesel car. Hurrying somewhere or forgot something back at your hotel? A diesel car's faster acceleration will get you there faster, therefore saving you invaluable time.

Driving on the highway is also more efficient with a diesel car. If you plan to explore greater parts of Antalya and its environment, then this car is for you. These cars can reach up to 43 miles per gallon on the highway, saving you a lot of money you could have spent on fuel. Use this money to enhance your travel experience instead and get a more satisfying visit to Antalya. Carrying a heavy load? Diesel cars are your best choice. This is because these cars have better torque than their gasoline counterparts. greater the torque, the greater the load you can carry. This would be very beneficial if you intend to go camping.

The automatic transmission of the car also provides a wide range of benefits to our clients. This is because automatic cars are easier to drive since you do not have to make the extra effort of changing gears yourself. This can be very useful while driving in the city where the amount of traffic on the roads varies all the time. Additionally, driving in hilly terrain is also easier. This is because there is no rollback of the gears as you wind up hills. Making a pitstop in the middle of a hill? Then automatic transmission could be very useful so as to easily start the car and go on with the journey.

Further, an automatic car would be your safest option if there are multiple drivers for the car. This is because not everyone knows how to drive a manual car with the skill and consistency it requires. Additionally, you may be tired along your journey and the ease of driving an automatic car could save you the little energy you have and ensure you get to your destination safely.

You will definitely not go wrong in considering these two factors and renting yourself a diesel automatic car from our Antalya car rental services With this combination, you are assured value for your money. Our cars are a reflection of who we are. Rent a car today and experience Antalya on your own terms today. Happy driving!
