My husband and are flying to Paris July 13th, and we need some help planning a trip. This is very exciting but difficult . We want to visit Amsterdam, maybe Brussels, Switzerland, Venice, Cinque Terre and Tuscany. We'd like some advise on where to stay, how long, and best way to travel, must see places... etc. We love wine, so we are looking forward to visiting some wineries in Tuscany.
Our 17th year old daughter is meeting us back in Paris on the 26th and staying with us until we go back home on the 30th, so we need suggestions on where to stay in Paris, (what's the best area?) and what to do with a 17th y/o.
Thanks

If I am reading this right, you have 11 days after you land in Paris until you have to return there to meet your daughter. You have some big prioritizing to do. You also need to take a good look at a map and see how far apart some of your possible destinations are. A'dam is entirely in the wrong direction for anything you list except Brussels. Switzerland is a big place, so I don"t know what you expect to see there, or why you picked it. You can spend those 11 days in Italy, actually, flying into Venice, then going to Cinque Terre and then Tuscany, flying home from Florence. That's about how long it will take if you don't plan on racing through from one place to another and spending every other day in transit. So you have to eliminate either the Northern or the Southern Europe part of your trip.
After you take a more realistic look at your options, come back and we can help you plan.
Have you already purchased tickets? If not, (and if Italy is a priority) logically, you should fly into Italy; (probably Pisa) visit Tuscany, Cinque Terre and Venice; fly to Paris; visit Paris and fly home from Paris.
If you did four nights in Tuscany, two in Cinque Terre, and three in Venice, you might be able to fly into Amsterdam for 2 or 3 nights or someplace in Switzerland for 2 or 3 nights, in between Italy and Paris.
If your tickets are already booked, look at cheap flights from Paris to Italy or Switzerland so you can go straight on without overnighting in Paris. The problem is that many of the cheap flights don't use the same airports, so that might be too convoluted to be practical. At any rate, try to make it work so that you don't unpack in Paris twice - put all your time in Paris at the end of the trip, since you have to be there anyway.
If Amsterdam and Switzerland are the bigger priorities, then skip Italy this trip.
Paris > Amsterdam > Brussels > Switzerland > Venice > Cinque Terre > Tuscany > Paris is impossible in 10 days.
Which 3 (maximum) of these destinations are most important to you?
Thanks for the advise, I appreciate it but I am very confused. We can either do french riviera then Italy, or Amsterdam, then Italy. Since I don't have more time I'll have to choose. My mind is open at this point. Tickets are purchased to and from Paris, I like the suggestion of Sassafrass to leave Paris for the end. How does this look in July? Is the french riviera beautiful? where to stay? All positive suggestions are welcome.

if you only want positive suggestions you've come to the wrong place. we will tell you if a plan looks dumb.
While i'm at it have you ever LOOKED a a guidebook to europe? People here aren't travel agents you know....How about some hints as to what YOUR types of must sees are?
Havent spent much time on the French riveria but I would stay at least 3 nights in Cinque Terre to make it worth it. It takes quite a while to get there and one night just isnt worth it in my opinion. Plus 3 nights will give you more chance of good weather. What if you go for 1 night and its raining?
Keep in mind you will lose at least 1/2 a day every time you move. I would personally pick 4 locations at most and enjoy them.
So if you want to see the French Riveria head there directly from Paris - get a connecting flight to Nice, spend 3-4 nights in Nice and then head to Cinque Terre for 3-4 nights. Rent a car and do Tuscany and then drop the car and do Venice and fly back to Paris.
Agree that if you want people to help you - you need to have some ideas of our own.
What do YOU want to see and do? I have no interest at all in the CT - but I'm not into hiking - which is that what it's primarily for. On the other hand I love the Riviera - historic Nice, over the top Monaco and the wonderful quaint hill towns with historic churches, great little museums and pretty countryside.
Obviuoly you cna;t begin to do your first list. But to reco a choice you need to tell us something.
