HELP!, 11 days in Italy, in August

Jump to last reply

My beautiful (and patient) wife and I were married earlier this year in January and decided to wait on our honeymoon due to an quickly arriving second to last semester at college. We talked about destinations for a while and eventually decided on Italy as we wanted to go to Europe (our first time), we are both novice art appreciators, and we love food. Currently we have done little to no planning aside from booking our flight, and we need advice on planning our itinerary. We will be arriving in Rome at 12:45 PM on Monday 15th of August and will be leaving from Rome at 11:45 AM on Friday 26th of August. As far as our preferences we want to see as much art, history, and culture that we can, while balancing sightseeing with relaxation (it is our honeymoon after all). Also, we would like a balance between popular activities and those considered "off-the-beaten-path". We do have a few must-sees (although we are open to suggestion) and they are: In Rome: Capitoline Museum, Galleria Borghese, and the National Museum of Rome. Outside of Rome we really only have our heart set on spending some time in Venice. Aside from these things we are open to suggestion and in need of advice on filling out our itinerary. To conclude, any help would be much appreciated, thanks!!
