Hi - I've been reading and hearing a lot about those baths/spas in Budapest and in all of Hungary, and just sounds so luxuriating and can also be beneficial for the body (and for such an inexpensive price). I would like to know your experience with these baths, and are there any INDOOR baths in Budapest? I'm leaving for Budapest this Monday and would like to stay at a hotel that's got a great indoor bath. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi, a friend and I went to the spa twice when we visited Budapest in '94. We went to Hotel Gellert, it's the most famous I think. For $4 each, we had thermal bath, sauna, steamroom, and massage! Pedicures were extra ($2) but we were too late for that. Not only was it great but the place is beautiful. There are separate facilities for men/women. Don't miss it! <BR>

Thanks Sandy for your response. Does anyone know if the Hilton or Best Western have a hotel in Budapest which has an indoor bath??

Hi, just got back from relaxong visit to Budapest, where I went with female freind to visit the baths. The older turkish baths function on alternate days for the sexes ( get the list from Budapest website) and most people go naked. The Rac & Kiraly baths are open to women, the Rudas unfortunatley not. <BR>We had a short massage 15 mins at the Rac, although the 30 min one at the Szchechny baths was better, and a pedicure at the kiraly. have small change ready for tips. <BR>Try to avoid being in Budapest on Sunday, most baths are closed or have limited facilities open,(Saturday most close at 1300, like the shops), and those open are horrendously crowded. <BR>Unfortunately the Szchecny baths are undergoing extensive renovations and the large outdoor hot pools are closed. <BR>
