Heaven or Hell?
"In heaven, the cooks are French, the lovers are Italian, the mechanics are German, the police are British, and the whole place is run by the Swiss.
In hell, the cooks are British, the lovers are Swiss, the mechanics are French, the police are German, and the whole place is run by the Italians."

Some of the best chefs in the world are British - and French cooking isn't as great as people make out UNLESS you are paying mega bucks
Why do you think MacDonalds is so profitable there - and M&S sandwiches were one of the most popular lunchtime snacks in Paris
As for police - you've obviously never encountered French police before

You mean M&S Simply Food is big in Paris now? Didn't notice them my last time there, about 2005. Of course, I wasn't looking....
However, we practically lived on M&S takeout on our last trip to Britain, thinking to save money on food. Not sure we saved that much. But it was obviously an extremely successful enterprise.
