Dear friends,
We´ll arrive in Vienna on May 19th, Saturday, around 2PM, coming from Paris. We are a party of four (me, husband, 2-years-old daughter, and my mother), and will stay at the Vienna Marriott on Ringstrasse for 3 days. I was thinking about taking a hop on/hop off bus to get a bigger picture from the city and then pinpoint some places to explore further.
I would like to receive some input from you, such as not-to-miss places, kid-friendly restaurants, and so on. I have a printed guide, but would prefer to go for your advice. The only thing for certain is that we´ll go to see the Klimt museum.
So, I thank you all in advance and look forward for your advice.
Heading to Vienna, need some input!

You can find Klimt at several places in Vienna. And it is his 150 birth year anniversary so there are some special things going on too. Here is a website I found on this topic for our trip about the same time as yours.

And you might like this seasonal guide available on line.

It includes a "Children's Vienna" section.
We are traveling to Vienna in July as a party of 3. May I ask if you are taking 2 rooms and how did you book your hotel? We are having a very hard time finding a triple and 2 rooms are exorbitant. If you could share, wuold greatly appreciate it. We also would like to stay within the Ringstrasses and need air conditioning and an elevator/lift. Thanks!
The Marriott Vienna accepts 4 in a room as they have two double/queen beds. I have booked for four this summer (two adults and two teens).
The Marriott isn't cheap, but the rooms are great. And, OMG, they have windows that open !! The only drawback we found was that the ground floor where there are shops and a restaurant isn't airconditioned. When we were there in June, it was very hot and verry humid which made eating in the restaurant unpleasant.
Thanks laurie_ann for the helpful links, they have really good info indeed!
LBloom, I´ve reserved the Vienna Marriott last February on its own website, and got a very good rate. It´s U$255/night for a guest room for 3 adults and 1 child, two double beds, executive lounge access, includes breakfast. It´s a modern building, with all facilities and amenities. Centrally located, easy access by public transportation. As soon as we get back home I can give you more details about the hotel, but I suggest you book a room there.
Thanks to all of you, and if you have something more please let me know!
Thanks for the tip on the Marriott Vienna. I have reserved a room with 2 double beds, as there will be 3 of us. Wanted to ensure there was air conditioning (it will be mid July) and an elevator/lift. We got a good rate, considering - 702 euros for 3 nights including breakfast. I wish there had been more choice in more traditional hotel, but not willing to forgo A/C and finding a triple was nearly impossible. Poutine, please post a hotel review, as I can cancel up to 24 hours prior to arrival. Thanks again!
