Haven in Paris (HiP) review - wonderful apartment & company!

Just back from a 10-day stay at the Clery apartment. It was exactly as it appears on the website, though the site doesn't show that the 2 bedrooms each have large french doors that open onto the interior courtyard, as do all of the other french doors throughout the apartment.

It was spotlessly clean and delightful. Lots of space & loads of light flowing in all day long in every room (except the W/Cs). You can read all about it on their website (http://haveninparis.com/rental/montorgueil.php) but I just wanted to post a review since there doesn't seem to be much mention of this outfit on Fodors.

The bed linens were top-rate & pressed, crisply, to perfection. The pillows & beds were also 5-star material, and we fell asleep instantly every night & slept straight through. That was partly because of the luxurious beddings, but also because the building was silent. Let me repeat that - the building was silent day & night. Very unusual for a Paris apartment building. The location is 1 block from the Metro, two blocks from the amazing Rue Montorgueil, and a very quick walk to Rue St-Honore.

I could go on & on, but if anyone has any specific questions, I'd be happy to answer them. HiP is my new favorite outfit for Paris rentals & I can't wait to use them again. (For what it's worth, I just wrote a review on their site as well, though I don't believe it's been posted yet.)

I was impressed with the company from the first phone call that I made, as the woman I spoke with could answer every one of my very specific questions about the apartment without having to consult with anyone else or call me back. Everyone I spoke with at their office (in the US) was delightfully friendly & cheerful & helpful. It was the easiest rental I've ever done in Paris.

Clarin,

Thanks for the review. Haven in Paris certainly has some beautiful apartments in good locations. I like the balcony on yours.

I know I've read about the Vieux Columbier apartment here, but you're right, the agency is not mentioned that often.

Sound as though you had a wonderful trip.

Wow. Out of my price range for the two of us, but certainly share-able with good friends. That website gets a bookmark!

That isn't really a bad price for an apt. that size which had 2 BR (I sure hope the air mattress is not the main furniture in one of them)--about 350 euro a day--IMO. Of course it doesn't have AC which one might want for that price. At any other time of year than summer, wouldn't matter. The 1 BR in St Germain with AC is about 230 euro a day, which isn't in my budget but is in the price budget of lots of folks on here, it seems to me, at least the ones who pay for Parisperfect, which is even more expensive, I think. IN fact, I don't think ther eis any 1 BR Parisperfect apt that cheap in summer season. I think their 1 BRs are over 300 euro a day.

No, Christina, the air mattress is not in either of the bedrooms. It is available in addition to the beds in the bedrooms. If you look at the photo of the dining rooom area, you'll see a large folding screen at the end of the room. Apparently the air mattress is placed behind this screen if you need it. I told HiP that we had no use for the air mattress & would rather not have it in the room taking up space, so it was put into storage prior to our arrival. That was really great because I did elect to use the washing machine, so I hung up our "fine washables" on their fold-out drying rack (which is stored in a closet) and placed the rack discreetly behind the folding screen. So that worked out very nicely. (For what it's worth, there is a clothes dryer, but I didn't want to use it for some of our things.)

Clarin,
This looks really nice so I searched their 1-bedroom apts. Lagrange would have suited but is already booked for our dates in October. I'm not surprised at the price, location and features of the apartment. I am bookmarking for another time.
