Have Eurostar tickets at discounted rate

Hey Guys

My wife cannot make the trip I booked for her to Paris, I have eurostar tickets departing St.Pancras:

London St Pancras Int'l at 10:25 on Thursday 8th January
Arrives Paris Gare Du Nord at 13:50 on Thursday 8th January

Departs Paris Gare Du Nord at 8:13 on Sunday 11th January
Arrives London St Pancras Int'l at 9:30 on Sunday 11th January

They have offered me a name change so I can transfer this ticket.

Could anybody help out and not let this ticket go to waste?

Interesting that they made that exception for you, as this is what is printed on their website:

"All Eurostar tickets are non-transferable

Please refer to our conditions of carriage point 12 which can be seen on our web site at the bottom of each page.

Tickets are only valid for the person whose name appears printed on the tickets"

@social worker, in this case I have written to Eurostar customer services with evidence from a doctor that my wife cannot travel due to health reasons, I have it in writing from Eurostar that they are willing to make the name change.

@PalenQ, they are £80 for the full journey there and back. Are you interested?

No not me - just thought it was material for anyone to consider - they may even get a cheaper fare on some trains thought probably not!

I guess trip insurance is a good idea.

And Eurostar folks you corresponded with will not entertain giving you a refund because of the medical condition - would not cost them anymore than if you transferred them to others who would normally buy new ones?

Yes, but it's a sunk cost and the odds are the OP might not find someone to give them to. And that person might use them but wouldn't have bought a ticket on their own, it seems to me. SO it does cost them more to give a refund.

This isn't unusual, in France, you have to have bought their insurance to get some refund if you have a medical excuse.
