Has Anyone Used Rome Sweet Home?

I found what looks like a great apartment rental in Rome from an agency called Rome Sweet Home (www.romesweethome.it). Has anyone worked with them before? Are they reliable?
I have searched many other sites including sleepinitaly, roman reference, rome power, rome accomodations, real rome, under the roman sun...but I have found few if any apartments that have both a king size bed and a walk-in shower (not hand-held) in the central area (Navona, Pantheon, Campo, Trastavere) . These are my two top criteria. This apartment has all that and a terrace near Navona on Governo Vecchio. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Type the name of the company in the search field above to see previous comments. Also, go to www.slowtrav.com to see reviews of apartments and of agencies.

We booked an apartment with them for a trip in March.I had followed up several recommended agencies on this site but had difficulty getting a response from some.
Having made the booking for an apartment for 5 on Via Ripetta, friends also made a booking through them for an apartment nearby.
Some weeks before we left our friends apartment was changed by the agancy but our friends were happy with the alternative offered which was also close to ours. As it happened the agancy didn't know we were travelling together.
We contacted them to check everything was O.K. with our booking and didn't have a reply . My husband then phoned them and everything was fine. We then had an email with something like "chill" in it!
They were waiting with the key, the apertments were totally acceptable and it all worked well. I would use them again.

thanks Frances. They seem to be the only Rome Apartment rental agency that has some rooms with King beds in the central district. We will be there for Christmas and want to stay very central --Navona, Campo, Pantheon or Forum area. A king bed and a real shower (not hand held) and possibly a TV that gets some English speaking programs are priorities for us. Has anyone got that combo before???

I am looking to book apartments through this company for our trip to Rome, Florence & Venice. I note there have not been any reports on this agency since this query - Can anyone update me on if the record for this company has improved or is it still hit & miss.

For any one else looking to book through Romesweethome be very careful. I booked one of the Pasquina apartments on Governo Vecchio, Navona, an apartment in Florence & an apartment in Venice and had nothing but trouble.

My first problem was making a bank xfer for the deposit. Confirmation of the apartments booked followed. A week before our departure the agency advised the Venice apartment was double booked & offered alternative apartments. I picked a diferent one that was available on their site at no additional cost.

On arrival we were shown to the apartment, paid the balance & settled in. The double bed had changed to 2 singles, the furnishings had also altered to lower grade stuff & the window locks were broken. We had 3 cups, 2 knives, no bowls & no kettle. The electric was always cutting out & there was only enough hot water for 2 showers. The air con was noisy as was the street noise due to the defective window locks.

I visited the agency office to complain & was offered a 10% refund which has not yet materialised. I was then told that they had booked us into a diferent Florence apartment. I remembered the apartment as being on a busy road & was not happy that on our holiday we were not able to choose where we could stay. The apartment however was much better than the Rome apartment for the same price.

The Venice apartment turned out to be 2+2 meaning we had a double & sofa bed. We refused the apartment as we had booked 2 double bedroom. The apartment owner called the Venice agent & the Rome agency. They promised to get back to us that day with an alternative apartment but didn't & so we ended up staying the 4 nights there but didn't pay the balance - Rome sweet home had to pay the owner.

I also note on tripadvisor that one of their apartments on Governo Vecchio was also in a bad state - one of the stairs giving way.

To sum up I would not recommend this agency & would not trust the photos nor their descriptions.

A further charge has recently been made to my bank account following the bank transfer by SWIFT to Romesweethome's bank account. It was a reverse charge incurred by the Italian bank for cashing the euro payment. So a charge was made by the UK bank to xfer a payment in euros & now a charge from the Italian bank.

I know this is an old post, but I used romesweethome about 3 months ago when we rented an apartment in Rome (largo monti parioli). The experience was not a good one. The site advertised a 3 bedroom apartment with 3 bathrooms and it was
the number of bathrooms that eventually determined us to take this apartment. To our surprise, there were only 2 bathrooms on location, out of which one (the one with the mirrors) was totally unusable, as the water would not flush. Despite several calls to the agency, a "plumber" showed up 2 days later!!! at a time when we were not at home and left us a note in Italian intructing us to push the button harder. This was a total joke... There were 3 men in our group and none were able to push that button hard enough to make it work! The apartment itself was in a very poor shape, with dated furniture and a persistent smell of stale & cigarettes. The washing machine in the kitchen is rusted and probably not properly cleaned for ages as lime has built up on the outside in a rather thick stratus. I would not recommend this apartment and agency to anyone, particularly since there was no sign of sorrow or apology for the way our money was spent.

I could tell you all the things wrong with them and our stay there but I will make it short and sweet, my daughter and I got lice at the apartment. When I contacted them about it they ignored me. There were so many other things wrong with the place but none of it really compares to lice.

We stayed with Rome Sweet Home rental apartments near the Piazza Navono. We didn't seem to have trouble with booking or paying, (at least not yet). The key-holder met us earlier in the day they were we suppose to have arrived, as our plane had been changed. The location was GREAT.
When I returned I took a look back at the web site and photos to see if they were close to my experience. The size and layout were similar. But the quality of the apartment was a little under par - for a standard. It wasn't luxury of course - but things like the bathroom door stuck and should be trimmed so it doesn't stick to the floor. The kitchen was ok - but could have had better organization and more kitchen towels. We stayed a week and I wished there had been more bath towels or better yet lots of hooks - so I could have hung up the used towel to reuse - The laundry machine worked fine so we did do towels twice.
The twin beds are a few inches away from each other, which is ok and it was as in the picture indicated- so I was ready for that experience. But I think they are too close. It would be far better to have bunk beds. Do they have bunk beds in Rome?. That way there would be room to be in the room - could even have a chair to put things on and also be able to get to the desk.
Finally the complaint I have is that it really wasn't as clean as I would like, and the window has a hole cut in it for air-condition, that is way too COLD for November. They need to find a way to seal the window from cold air. I put some foil over it - but that isn't great.
In summary things we good. A little cold and a need a better cleaning. Felt safe, comfortable. And for the location could not have been better.
