Has anyone taken a taxi all the way from Madrid–Barajas Airport to Toledo?
So I'm trying to paste the very last few details of our Madrid/Valencia/Mallorca/Toledo/Madrid trip.
I have the flights and hotels all finished. I'm just gearing up, sleeves pushed up to my elbows, to dive into Renfe to book the train.
I'm experienced--so I know that when I book, Renfe charges will not go through my first 2 or 3 attempts, even with the fact that I am REGISTERED on Renfe AND with the fact that I would be warning my cc companies.
I can do it. I'm willing to do it.
But just as I started to book, my husband raised a question:
"Heck, can't we just get a driver to take us from Madrid-Barajas to Toledo? You're telling me it's an hour, hour and 1/2."
Hmm.
I know to take the train from our landing at the airport, I have to get to Madrid Atocha, and by taxi that is 35 Euros more or less--and we have had very good experiences, unlike others, with our Madrid taxi drivers.
Then we have the train fare for two to Toledo.
So....
has anyone just had a taxi or other type of driver pick one up at the airport and take one straight to Toledo???
If so, please tell!
Thank you.

The drive is over 1-1/2 hours. It will set you back at least €140 for a private service. Not many Madrid taxi drivers would be willing to make the trip.
The taxi fare from the airport into town is set at €30, but you would have to pay a little extra for the train station service fee.

Thanks all.
I should have expanded upon why I'm trying to figure out how to get there directly. We're trying to get in place for the Easter processions through Toledo that Saturday. Toledo will be wall-to-wall people.
I have no control over when our cycling adventure ends in Mallorca, and we're taking the first flight out from PMI to MAD that morning, so I'm trying to reduce the travel time to Toledo from MAD for that day as much as possible.
The sheer volume of travel throughout Spain that weekend, FHurdle, is why I would probably book the train in advance if we took it.
For our way back to MAD, I could care less about the time or means.
Thanks, Elizabeth_S, for the link. "Viable" certainly is the operative word, here. You know, the pricing just isn't that far off from trying to do a taxi from the airport and then taking the train.
I just would feel better if I knew someone who had done it.
We have had good luck with drivers before in other countries and the cost was always surprisingly reasonable, so that's why my husband is pressing me to explore this a bit.
Again, thanks for thoughts, guys. I'll keep plugging along here.

The taxi fare appears to be around €80/90 to Toledo from the airport and if you account for the cost of the cab into Madrid, around €30 and the train fare and cab to the hotel once in Toledo, I'd spring for a cab all the way.
Car service prices seem to be around €150.

Good for you !
Processions go most of the day (and night )in different parts of the city..
We visited several churches to see pasos before the processions
a bit out the very center but worth visiting:
Basilica de Macarena ( Macarena district)
and
Basilica ,Jesus de Gran Poder
Plaza de San Lorenzo, 13
( people were lining up to kiss pasos at Grand Poder....)
