Has anyone flown Icelandair to Europe?
Just about to book a flight from NY to Amsterdam with a layover in Reykjavik, but I have a question. The scheduled layover is only 90 minutes. I'm a little nervous about that, especially leaving from JFK which is notoriously late. Will we have to go through customs at KEF, or not until we arrive in AMS? Anyone have any experience with this or a similar route on Icelandair? THANKS!!

All they do at Reykjavik is transfer people from one plane to another. Sounds like plenty of time to me, provided your flight takes off on time. I'd take the chance. At worst, they'll put you on the next flight.

We flew to Paris last year, Boston-Reykjavik-Paris. We had about an hour layover. It was enough time to go through immigration and board the plane to Paris.
It is not a large airport, almost everyone on the flight was in transit. I wouldn't worry about your timing.

I've connected there on IcelandAir twice the last two Aprils. Both times were, literally, under 15 minutes to exit the plane and get to our next gate. It is a tiny airport and the gates are very close. It was also practically empty both times, with our flight and another NY flight being all that was there.

Thanks for the info, everyone! I feel much less nervous now. As Dukey said, I was picturing the craziness and half-mile terminals of U.S. airports. Relieved to hear it's an easy plane change.
