Has anyone done a Venice food tour?
We will be stopping in Venice pre- and post- a trip to Slovenia. The first stay will be two days with three of us--my husband, me and my daughter. The second stay will just involve me and my husband.
Although all three of us have been to Venice before, my husband was there too long ago to remember anything ( ). My daughter and I, on the other hand, did a bang-up job of seeing Venice 5 years ago in less than 5 days. So I'm trying to come up with some out-of-the-box things while my daughter is with us the first two days this time.
Has anyone done a food tour of Venice? Was it worth it? Would you recommend day or evening?
Note: I've been scouring the 'net, and while there seem to be several companies offering these things, it seems reviews are showing the same guide names. I'm thinking the companies may be subcontracting to the same tour provider.
As always, grateful for any and all who can give me a clue!

I don't think, of all places in Italy, that Venice is known for it's food, aside from having lots of seafood. But the Veneto is know for the works of the architect, Paladio. There are several quite close to Venice and there are tours of those. I haven't done it but I hope to one day. Here are several from a google search (paladio tours):

Not a food tour, but there are tons of Osterias in Venice that offer appetizers in the evening along with your wine. My husband and I did it on our honeymoon (all those years ago) and I think we hit 10 places before our stamina gave out. (these days we'd probably make it to five). I remember it as being one of the funnest things we did. Rick Steves outlines a tour in his Italy guide.

I appreciate the responses, but again, we have BEEN to Venice, and we worked hard at it . We tried elbowing our way at the osterias,Monica, and like you we just decided to quit while we were ahead.
Quite frankly, compared to the rest of Italy, the food sucks--and it costs a lot. I'm not going to quibble about the cost from a tourist point of view though; food transport costs must be enormous for any local.
However, I thought it might be fun to find the BEST of the stuff that's there from someone on the ground, so to speak, so save wear and tear on my tootsies. But I'm not going to fork over cash if the value received is not good enough.
Hence, my query.
BTW, ol' Rick was very helpful to us. We made the most of his free mp3 guides/maps, believe me.

Hello! During my last trip I was looking for a good food tour in Venice, after a little research I found out some food/wine tours.
I tried the last one and I was positively surprised about the good quality of the tour.
Here I have a list of some options that I found:
