Harwich to London

If you're arriving at the Harwich Port on a cruise or a ferry, and you wish to travel to London, save some money by taking the train. If you book in advance and your times are flexible, you can do the trip for just 8 pounds per person one way. Check out the Greater Anglia Rail web-ste at http://www.greateranglia.co.uk . The Harwich International rail station is right outside the port... even closer to the ships than is the parking lot! You do a quick change of trains at Manningtree; then on to London's Liverpool Street Station. This 8 pound fare compares with the Silver Fleet bus service the fare of which has skyrocketed to a whopping 59 pounds! I'm sure the cruise lines have bus transfers too; but I'm just as sure that their fares will be over the top, as per usual.
