Hampshire Inn Prinsengracht

Has anyone stayed here? It looks lovely and quite central but as I haven't been to Amsterdam before it's hard to imagine the distances involved. Is it within easy walking distance of the train station?

Where on the Prinsengracht is the Hampshire Inn located? The Prinsengracht is the outer canal of the three that ring the city center. Chances are there is a tram stop close to the hotel that you can take from Central Station. Perhaps check with the hotel which tram stops are the closest.

While you are walking about Amsterdam, keep in mind that the city is laid out like a bicycle wheel, with spokes and rings, not a grid system. So it is important to have a good map, otherwise you could do alot of unnecessary walking to get to your destination.

Have a safe a happy journey. Peace.

The Hampshire Inn Prinsengracht is just East of Vijzelgracht. I'd say at a moderate walk it'll take about 20-25 minutes to walk from Centraal Station.

The 16, 24, and 25 trams from CS stop at Vijzel and Prinsen.

We stayed on the Prisengracht - #328 - just 2 blocks south of Elaandstraat (if you're looking for a major street on a map). On a scale of 1-10, our location was a 20! No kidding. Being a NYS person, the analogy - like being in Greenwich Village with 3-4 story brownstones and narrow cobblestone streets, except there are canals running through, every which way. Absolutely charming, peaceful and convenient to everything.l
