Hamburg to Copenhagen, how to get there????

Does anyone know of a fairly inexpensive way to get from Hamburg to Copenhagen? I am taking my younger sister (who has been living in Hamburg) there for a couple of days in March. Any ideas for a good inexpensive hotel would also be welcomed.

If you consider 70 euro cheap, there's the EuroCity train from Hamburg to Copenhagen several times a day.

Thanks, I have one of those international cards that would discount it it further, but I still think that's a tad pricey (considering the dollar to euro conversion rate)

We may still do it, I really want to go there...

msjuice624,

there is also a bus service at € 38.- oneway between Hamburg and Copenhagen. It is offered by Eurolines and takes about 6 hours.
For timetables and fares, check

BTW: I posted hints for sights on the "m_kindom- returns- from- hamburg"- thread, where you posted, too.

Should you require any more info (esp. restaurants and bars), do keep posting, I'll gladly answer!

Forgot to add: The bus is likely to use the route via Puttgarden and Rödby, which includes a nice and scenic ferry passage of 45 minutes!

The train ALSO uses the ferry from Puttgarden to Rodby and the train trip only takes about four hours.

Hi ms,

I suggest the train. You get a lovely ferry trip and a great buffet. (A Danish ship is better.)
