There are only 3 "4-star" hotels in Haarlem - the Amrâth Grand hotel Frans Hals, the Van de Valk and the Carlton. The Van de Valk is in Haarlem Zuid so too far away from the station. The other two are about 10-15 minutes walk away.
There are very nice 2 and 3 star hotels. The difference in stars is not the quality of the hotel so much as the services they provide.
Hetismij, could you tell me the very nice 2 and 3 star hotels in Haarlem? I looked at Joops and decided the quality of the rooms is too variable to chance booking there. Have an offer from Stempels which is a little over our budget. I'd be interested to find something nearer the square than the station. B&B? Studio with small kitchen? We'll be there for four nights.
