GTG London, beginning of September?

This year I'll spend most of my time in the UK outside London, but I'll be there the first weekend in September, arriving the afternoon of Sept 2nd and leaving the afternoon of Sept 5th. Thoroughly enjoyed last year's GTG, wondered if anyone would be around that weekend and interested in a GTG.

Yes, pity about that. Just London this trip, or somewhere else?

I'll miss it too. We'll be in London the second week of August and then Edinburgh the third week.

Good luck with the crowds, janisj.

Sorry to miss you, goddesstogo, I'll be in Worcester the second week of August.

Anyone else?

Too bad, thursdaysd and janisj. We're like those proverbial ships passing in the night!

Lucky for us, though, that we are going to get to see Jaimie and Bikerscott while we're in London.

Well, I will be in London the same weekend as you, thursdaysd, at the beginning of September, but occupied with my daughter's wedding celebrations!

However, if you are in Worcester for a while, I am only a few miles south near Gloucester, a 40 minute drive. I used to live just outside Worcester. I could maybe meet you around that area?

Congratulations and good luck with the wedding! Would love to meet up with you.

I'll get to Worcester from Oxford around lunchtime on the 15th, leaving for Shrewsbury the morning of the 19th.

Planning day trips to Tewkesbury (maybe) and Gloucester, and Hereford, by bus and train.

If any of that sounds feasible you can contact me using mytimetotravel on gmail.

thursday -

Gloucester is 5 miles just the other side of the hill from where I live, Tewkesbury maybe 20 mins drive. I'm happy to meet you either place - and if there's anywhere else you'd like to visit, I have a car and would be happy to drive you.

I've done the same for fodorites Challiman and her cousin- last year I met them at Gloucester station, then we went to the Cathedral and saw a bit of the city, on to lunch Monmouth via the Forest of Dean, followed by the Wye Valley and Tintern Abbey, finally the castle and tea in Chepstow from where they got a train. Previously I've done the same sort of thing with schnauzer, Barb, and Lee (kodi).

I do work; Thursday (!) is my usual day off but I can change it fairly easily with a bit of advance notice.

I will email you over the next few days.

Wow, julia - that sounds like a lovely day if you would be willing to do it again. And the Thursday would be fine, I don't go to Shrewsbury until the Friday.
