Greek Village
Hi I am looking for a little village (ideally not too touristy) and by the sea where I can rent a room and do some writing from April-Jun 2018. Any suggestions?
Thanks

The port village on Sikinos island is quiet and should fill your requirements. There is very little to attract tourism to this charming island. http://tinyurl.com/y745w9h5

Look at Serifos .... the beach at the port town is mediocre, but walk just over the hill to Lividakia Beach, and it's pure heaven ... only 2 places to stay right on the beach -- one is Coralli Bungalows, sheer heaven ... little buildings of 4 units each with a porch, about 30 feet from the sand. It has a pool but who would use it, with the amazing sandy beach right there.

The other place is a darling small pension, which has a small taverna

In April it will be blessedly quiet, and even the end of May, very serene. An easy walk to the port town for a change of scene, restaurants, a few shops. This island has NO airport, no big ships, and before high season, just independent travelers and sailboats.
I'm sure if you discuss rental on a longer-term basis, you'll be able to get a very very reasonable rate at Alexandros-Vassiliki. lovely family-run place.

I also agree re Antiparos ... it's so walkable .. beaches are not over "organized" ... and if u want more activity once in awhile, the port town of Paros is just a few minutes away by little ferry.

Yes, April - June on Antiparos would be very nice. You will see the island awaken from its winter slumber, starting with Easter in April, through June when Scandinavian visitors begin to arrive in numbers. What I like most about Antiparos is how friendly everyone is.
Lots of people commute daily between Paros and Antiparos, so you won't be isolated. The Pounta - Antiparos ferry takes only 7 minutes to cross, and costs just over a euro. Ferries run every 30 minutes. The bus from Pounta to Parikia (the island port and capital) takes about 15 minutes.
You might be able to pick up a good rental deal on an apartment that would be very expensive in high season.
