Greek Island: Rhodes, Kos or Lesbos?

During my trip to Turkey in early September, I'd like to catch a ferry to a Greek island and stay for a couple of days. The closest islands are Rhodes, Kos and Lesbos. Which island is the best?

Depends on what you're looking for - Lesbos, ironically is predominantly a lesbian oriented island, especially during summer. Rhodes and Kos come into a tie with me. Give me more specifics
Janice,

I would go for Rhodes because the Turkish departure point of Marmaris is so nice. But stay in the old town. Try the Hotel Marmara with a beautiful roof top breakfast patio overlooking the bay.

The old town in Rhodes is quite interesting but ignore the new town as its full of package Europeans.

Kos is another package island. If you do cross over from Bodrum stay at the Hotel Afendoulis. It doesn't take tour packages. Its at 1 Evripilou Street. A great place to stay.

Both Rhodes & Kos have airports and are on the same ferryboat route to Piraeus. Kos is a bit closer though.

Hi,

I'm going to Rhodes next week ... any advice on nice beaches, good restaurants, great things to do while I'm there? What's the interior of the island like? I'll be staying in one of the dreaded "package" places, but I don't care. I love Greece and I'm hoping to use the hotel as a base to see the island and possibly a couple of other islands in the area. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
