Great Scandinavian Gifts?
What would be some ideas for souveniers to bring back for family members? Kids, teens, adults? I will be in Copenhagen for a couple of days, pass through Goteborg, Sweden, and then a week in Norway. Norway in particular is special to my family since my maternal grandparents immigrated to the U.S. from there. Also my paternal grandfather was Swedish (although his family was from the Danish island of Anholt.)
Some basic ideas I've had so far are Christmas ornaments, traditional hat/scarf, lefse recipe book, book of folk music...
Any others I can be on the lookout for?
Also, have you ever found shops that will ship an item directly to the U.S.?
Thanks!

We brought back some Pippi Longstocking items for our little granddaughter - a big hit. A doll, some slipper socks, a book.
Trolls are fun little souvenirs too. Both were easily found in shops near the train station in Goteborg when we there last year.

Just back for a quick trip to Denmark. At the Museum in Roskilde I found a salt seller with a little spoon in the shape of Viking ship - maybe 20 euros (we paid in Kroner) and then at Ladby where they have a recreated Viking village - with the folks living and working as they did 1000 years ago -I found a wonderful mobile with little Viking ships - also around 20 euro - and a rune charm (th) for my bracelet. Both easy for packing - although we drove up so it wasn't a problem for us. The bottle of Viking Blod (mead) might have been a packing problem - except we drank it, along with bottles of heather mead and rapeseed mead. Dang - that's good stuff! I would expect you can find this sort of thing in Copenhagen too. We also saw lots of DVDs on recreating ships, sailing, etc., and small books on, among other things, runes.

The Puff Troll mobilé is kinda nice for (smaller) kids as he takes away the sorrows. And it weighs next to nothing.
Sweden
Dalarna horses (woodcraft)
Whatever made from glass of one of the famous manufacturers in Småland's glass "kingdom";

Norway
No clue. A can of oil, maybe?
