Grantham, Melton Mowbray, Bingham and Beyond

Jump to last reply

We are off on a genealogy crusade to the area where our great convict ancestor resided. He was born in Harby, christened at Long Clawson and lived at Stathern before being transported to Sydney at HM's pleasure.

We are trying to find a nice place to stay in the area for 2-3 nights.

Our search is in the area bounded by Grantham, Melton Mowbray and Bingham. We will have a hire car and would also consider Stamford if it is worth travelling the additional distance.

Any accommodation suggestions would be greatly appreciated from local hotel to 5 star. We are looking for somewhere interesting and comfortable with large bed.

Thank you for any advice on this area that seems to produce very few forum posts.
