Gran Canaria (Canary Isls) to Morocco Excursions..need help

Hello,
I will be visiting Madrid and Canaries in November and would REALLY REALLY like to take a sidetrip to Marrakesh (Morocco). I have been told that this is doable from Canaries, but so far I have not been able to find any info online (at least not in english). Flights from Madrid are $74 to Casablanca so I am tempted, but would really prefer to do this from Canaries instead. Any help would be greately appreciated!

Thanks a million!

Sergey

Try http://www.royalairmaroc.com

I have found word that there are no ferries between the Canaries and Morocco. But maybe I am wrong.

There are excellent connections between UK, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden and Spain to the Canaries, but I am afraid there is not much demand for the Canaries-Morocco connection.

For us Northern Europeans, the Canaries are so appealing because they offer nice weather during our dreadful winter months. 95% of these tourists are primarily interested in tanning, beach life and diskos, with an occasional trip into the hinterland.

The people who are travelling to Morocco are a quite different bunch - adventurers, intellectuals, late hippies, pot-smokers...

Have you googled ferries canary islands morocco?

I just did and came up with lots of options. Maybe they've all been canceled, but that's hard to believe.

The trip to Morocco from the Canaries is something that will jump in your face once you run into the first (of ten dozen) person(s) giving you a leaflet with tours. It's nothing that anyone books in advance. It's a simple day trip as would be a bus tour.

P.S. The usual trip goes from Tenerife North or LPA to al-Ayun which is in Western Sahara. You did not say that you specifically wanted to go to Marrakesh. The airline should be Binter Canarias, a local carrier from the islands.

How do we know he/she wants to do a daytrip? Most people don't go to Marrakech for just a day.
