Hôtel d'Aubusson is in the 6th arr. where you'll find many great restaurants nearby. Here are just a few of my favorites:

* KGB (Kitchen Galerie Bis) ... inventive cuisine, very close to hotel

* Ze Kitchen Galerie ... same owners as KGB

* Fish la Boissonnerie ... awesome seafood

* Anahuacalli ... nearby in the 5th

* Spring ... a short walk across the Seine

* Ralph's ... beautiful place, Ralph Lauren, but you pay for it

* Le Relais Odéon ... for drinks, but on the alley side, not the avenue (if it's warm enough to be outdoors)

* You can walk along the touristy by fun Rue de Buci where you'll find many restaurants. L'Atlas is a nice brasserie.

Le Comptoir Relais St Germain (casual atmosphere but spectacular food); Marco Polo for Italian; Le Petit Chaise

more casual everyday places, Le Danton and les editeurs.

If you want to hit the literary haunts, then Les Deux Magot, Cafe Flore and Brasserie Lipp, but they are over-priced

The Christian Constant restaurants on rue St Dominique in the 7th. Violon D'Ingres would be great for your anniversary.

We enjoyed Les Bouquinistes, which is a very short walk from the hotel. We stayed at Hotel d' Aubusson a couple of years ago(our first trip to Paris, as well), and loved it. Staff couldn't be nicer. Location is great. Try the macarons at Gerard Mulot. Have a wonderful trip. Paris is sublime.

Regarding Le Comptoir, it's probably too late to get a reservation, which is why I didn't include it on my list.

They do serve at Le Comptoir, the brasserie menu, not gastro menu , without reservation on Saturday/Sunday nights from noon -11pm and M-F 12-6pm. I just confirmed that with them this week.

If you arrive early it's your best chance to get in or get in without a long wait. The beef cheeks and lobster bisque are worth it.
