Good Restaurant in Athens for Special Occasion

We will be in Athens on a Saturday Night in Early October and are looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. We are looking for any suggestions. Will we need reservations? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Any of the restaurants at Hotel Grande Bretagne are superb. You won't be disappointed!

For an amazing view of Athens, consider the restaurant/cafe at the top of Lycabettus Hill above Kolonaki Square at sunset.

I second m_k's vote for the Grande Bretagne. Dinner with my mom at the GB is one of my favorite memories of Athens. Mom still talks about their lemon chicken soup.

Another second for Grand Bretagne....we loved the rooftop restaurant with the incredible Acropolis view!

1/ The GB rooftop is a classic value.

2/ An other option would be "MR PIL POUL'S House' with an amazing Acropolis view from Thysion and delicious food.

3/If cuisine is the absolute must then the 3 star michelin Spondi is your place.
A booking is a must.

My husband and I had dinner on the rooftop of the Grande Bretange two weeks ago; we were celebrating our 30th anniversary. In front of us was a superb view of the lit-up Acropolis; behind us the full moon was rising over the mountains. The wait staff were superb. We both thought we couldn't have had a more spectacular setting. You do need reservations- [email protected]
If you e-mail her a week or so before you should be fine. It was expensive, I admit- dinner for two, with wine and appetizer and dessert cost about 140 euros, without tip. We thought it was well worth it.

Hi,
We had a delicious dinner at the Olive Garden Restaurant (not like the one in the states) at the Talapia Hotel. It was on the roof and had a spectacular view of the lit up Acropolis complete with a full moon. It was not as pricey as the Grande Bretagne but the food and service were great. If you don't care what you spend, go for the Grande Bretagne!
