good places to stop between Nerja and Toledo

Dear Fodorites,
I have received the greatest advice from you. From tour guides to hotels...THANKS!
Here's my latest question.
We are going to drive from Nerja to Toledo in late May. (I got a fabulous deal at NovaCarHire.)
I've been having trouble with the RailEurope website --- like trying to go from Toledo to Madrid doesn't respond--- so I just gave up on it, and am keeping our car.
So, I'm thinking we'll stop about halfway in Cordoba.
What else should we do?
Thanks!

Part 2 to above:
I should have mentioned that we will already have spent time in Seville and Granada.

We spent 2 nights in Almagro as jetlag recovery time. It is a nice sleepy town to wander. The Parador is centrally located & quite nice - with a good pool for siesta time.

We also spent 2 nights at Jaen. The town is a modern Spanish town with lots of shops etc. The Parador is spectacular sitting up above the town on a spine of rock. The views are breathtaking.

See http://members.rennlist.com/imcarthur/spain2.htm for trip report & pictures.
