Good places for Sunday lunch or evening dinner near Wexford, Ireland
My sister and I are staying near Wexford (Kilmuckridge is the village) and would love to know if anyone can recommend good places to eat. We'd like somewhere for Sunday lunch and have planned to visit the Waterford crystal factory and the Hook lighthouse that day so somewhere near to there would be great, though not essential.
Also need to find places for evening meals. I have seen there are a few pubs nearby in Kilmuckridge but I don't know if Irish pubs sell food the way we do in UK. If anyone has suggestions for good restaurants/pubs meals we'd be very grateful! Nowhere too expensive but if its good we don't mind paying a little bit more - after all we're on holiday!

Hi Gytha, there are a few places to eat in Kilmuckridge village, there is Sean Ogs hotel. Here is the sample of their bar menu http://www.seanogs.ie/Sean%20Ogs%20Bar%20Menu.pdf
I love the food there but it can get busy at the weekends.
Then there is a new restaurant opened at Boggans pub, you can see the menu on the facebook page.

There is also a Chinese restaurant and a chip shop.
If you head to the beach then there is another takeaway and pizzeria, this place is fab, if you go there you must try their Ferrero Rocher smooch deluxe ice cream.

I'm not sure where the best place to go to eat near Hook head would be but most pubs do sell pub food

Thats great!! Thank you both very much. My tummy is rumbling reading the Sean Ogs menu right now
The Spice menu looks good too and thinking of perhaps getting as a take away while we watch our dvd's one evening.

I would get a takeaway from Lawlers, they deliver too, I'm not sure what the other takeaway in the village is like but Lawlers is fab, just spent a day at the beach myself today and went there afterwards, hopefully the sun is still here when you are over!
