Going to Wimbledon - Where to Stay
My husband and I will be going to Wimbledon in June and would like some suggestions of B & B's or hotels to stay in for $150 or less. I looked at apartments but I didn't care for any that were available in my price range. Last time we were in London we won the Hilton Olympia on Priceline for $110/night, which was an easy tube ride to Wimbledon.
Since we're not guaranteed to win it again and we would prefer a more intimate place with breakfast, I'm looking for suggestions with good bus options for Wimbledon or near the Picadilly/District lines. We've stayed in the South Kensington and Bloomsbury areas before so I was thinking near the Eye or Chelsea or ??? might be a fun new areas to explore and get to know for our week's stay. Easy access to Wimbledon, while a big plus, is not set in stone. Thank you.

I like Aster House on Sumner Road. It is a couple blocks from the South Kensington tube station in a very good area. There are a number of restaurants plus post office, drug store, and small grocery close by. The Victoria and Albert Museum and Natural History Museum are withing walking distance (via tunnel from the tube stop). Shopping on Kings Road is a short tube ride to Sloane Square. If you want to splurge Number 16 on the same street is my favorite.
Missed out on my Wimbledon lottery attempt this year.

Time Out's area guide to Wimbledon has got plenty of information on places to stay - scroll down a little bit and it's on the right. Enjoy Wimbledon, it's a great place!
