Had a friend that got a Prada purse from her boss when he took a trip to China and he said that he got it for a lot cheaper than he would have had to pay. Love her purse, want to know of anyplace in Italy that I could possibly get purse cheaper. Also shoes, I have big feet. Size 11 wide. Any suggestions?

The Prada bag from China is a counterfeit, and illegal merchandise. You can go to the Prada outlet outside of Florence and get the real stuff at a discount.
Ferragamo makes 11 wide; their flagship is in Florence with an outlet nearby, also.

What does "reasonably priced" mean to you? Does that mean a fake Prada bag (the bag from China that your friend got as a gift was definitely fake) for $30? Or do you want a real Prada, maybe "last season," that is $400 off its normal $1200 price tag?
How would we know if you should take a cab or taxi to Ferragamo in Florence if we don't know where you are staying????????????????????????????? You could walk if you are close enough.

There's a store in Rome called Lily of Florence. It's on one of the streets that go off from the Via Veneto, at Via Lombardia 38.
They carry American sizes of Amalfi and Bandolino shoes (which are much less expensive than Ferragamos).

Hello lola, if you they would fit into your budget a pair of Ferragamo shoes would last you for ages if you take care of them. And at least for me they are so comfortable as well as beautiful. I have several pairs that I have had for years and they are still like brand new.
I would check the prices for Ferragamo shoes at home (assuming there is somewhere you can buy them where you live) so that when you are in Italy you will be able to compare prices, especially considering the strong euro versus our weaking US dollar.
I agree with others. Don't buy counterfeit and illegal merchandise, please. Just my two cents worth.

Here's the store I shopped at last year, and they had very reasonably priced Prada bags!

We shopped at the SPACE/Prada outlet just 3 wks ago. It is difficult to find.
Here's the best directions I can give: The outlet is in Levanelle, a barely there town south of Montevarchi on the SS69. There is ONE small sign for Levanelle on a building as you pass through town, only in view if you're heading south! If you miss it and reach the town of Levane you've gone too far south. We never saw any signs for SPACE or Prada anywhere. The SS69 is a 2 lane street with stop lights that runs N-S a few miles West of the A1, South of Florence. It was shown clearly on our Michelin map. Going south on the A1 from Florence you would exit at San Giovanni go west to the SS69 then south, pass thru Montevarchi. Levanelle is next. It really seems like an extension of the outskirts of Montevarchi. There are no obvious landmarks to watch for as you approach the place. The building, on your left heading south, is set back off the SS69 behind another plain industrial type building. The outlet is in a warehouse type structure with a distinctive triangular-saw tooth type roof line. The building is perpendicular to the road. There is a small street that leads back to the warehouse with parking behind it. Right away you'll notice the nice cars in the lot and people milling about. You take a number from a machine on the wall outside. Then you can go into the cafe next door on the left and wait till the light up board shows the next group of numbers allowed in.
All in our group made purchases. The selection was a little better than I expected. I bought a black medium size (leather & microfiber) sachel type Prada bag for 200 Euro, a pair of Church's brand suede driving shoes for 65 Euro and a Helmut Lang denium jacket for 80 Euro. I got the VAT tax refund form from the shop too. I thought it was worth the stop. Good luck!

Agree to check prices in the US (and on line) before buying in europe. For Ferragamo - they have stores in the US and I know Saks carries them - perhaps Neiman Marcus as well. And when Saks has their semi-annual shoe sales you can get great deals. Prada you can also check prices in the US.
Any Prada that came from China is fake - and probably worth the $15 it cost.

Make sure Ferragamos work for you & your feet. I have a couple pair of the tuxedo flats/low heel but they don't have a lot of arch support IMHO so I seldom wear them now.
I've found my best deals on Prada on Ebay, but like everyone says, be wary of fakes.
