Going to Milan NEXT weekend - need Lake Como advice

Jump to last reply

In planning 3 European trips in the past 3 years, I've read hundreds of posts on these forums, and always found the info I wanted, but this is my very first question!
I'm kicking off my first visit to Italy with a couple days in Milan, arriving Saturday February 4th around 6pm. Planning on 1 full day to see Milan, and 1 full day to visit the Lakes as a daytrip. The order will probably depend on weather; if Sunday's weather looks clear we'll visit Como that day. I'd appreciate some tips on getting the most out of this day. I've read that the funicular up to Brunate is worthwhile, as well as the ferry or hydrofoil to Bellagio. Would this be a nice itinerary for a first-time visitor? Thanks all!
