Glasgow's new Riverside Museum opening June 21st 2011

This is the new transport museum, right on the banks of the River Clyde. Very excited about this and looking forward to visiting....

Forgot to say, Tall Ship Glenlee will also be moved form its current mooring to one right next to the new museum. The new museum has been designed by Zaha Hadid and looks very cool when you go past it....

Thanks alihutch - I am also looking forward to visiting this (more for the architecture than the contents) but hadn't seen the opening date had been set.

The architecture is impressive, but I always loved the contents of the old Transport Museum, so am looking forward to seeing it all in its new home. The river is so much part of Glasgow's transport history, that it seems appropriate that the new museum is on the banks of the Clyde, and the tall ship is rather lovely.
If you're lucky you might catch sight of the sea plane taking off as well!

Is this the museum that was originally at Tramway or was that a different one ? Hopefully this will help open up the river more - it has been rather ignored in the past, hasn't it ? Seeing the sea plane would be fun - and being on it would be even more fun ! We can dream.
