My sister and I are taking an spur of the moment trip in 45 day to Glasgow for 7 days. I need cheap suggestions for good food. Either of us have been there before so we need all the tips and suggestions. We are renting an apartment in near Central train station.
Any tips will be great.

Hmmm... My informations are less current than they should be, but you will have no difficulty in meeting your requirements. Go and look round Byres Road- the University quarter- and you will find lots of stuff. Buy a copy of The List magazine- lots of good recommendations. Online version too.
Places I know..
The Ashoka
Babbity Bowster
Cafe India (there may be a theme here)
The Halt Bar
Jaconelli's
The Koh-i-Noor
The Loon Fung
Mother India
Stravaigin
The University Cafe
The Wee Curry Shop
I am in the same position as Sheila -- it has been a while -- but inexpensive lunches are available for office workers in the district where you are staying, and when my daughter was working in Glasgow, she lived in the area near Byres Road and the Uni, where there were indeed inexpensive places to eat.
I think we are assuming that because you are on a budget and traveling with your sister you are young. Maybe not.
If you are interested in the arts, there is a great deal to see, as any guidebook will show you. It is also extremely easy to go to Sterling or Edinburgh or the Highlands for the day by train or bus.
The only hard thing in Glasgow is understanding the locals; even their fellow Scots have a hard time!
STIRLING!

The chicken bake is gorgeous
Thanks guys.. This is helpful. Neither of us have been on vacation on our own. And we have only 40 days to plan it so it has been interesting!
