Gite or House Rental in Alsace?

I was just wondering if anyone rents self-catering places in Alsace; we see it mentioned on here for Provence, Dordogne, and recently I got some good advice for Normandy. I even did a search and nothing came up. Perhaps there are so many quaint little inns throughout the region that most people just stay in them? My daughter studied in Strasbourg for a year during college, and I visited her there but I have never "done Alsace". No real plans to do this soon, but always a trip somewhere waiting to be taken!

I assume that you mean that you searched here on this forum (I didn't try repeating that) - - but a Yahoo search on "gites alsace France" led me directly to

http://www.alsace-gites-de-france.com

which has an English translation (NOTE: this webpage was fairly slow to lead for me) and lots of listings and useful related information.

I do not mention the Yahoo! retrieval as a put-down, but rather simply as a reminder - - that when this forum doesn't have the information you're seeking, the internet at large still frequently does.

but no harm done - - now it is shared with others here.

Best wishes,

Rex
Yes, I know that there are gites in Alsace; I was just wondering if anyone on here has rented one. I've never heard of anyone "doing Alsace" that way, and I suppose that even though Alsace has much to offer, it doesn't hold the magic in most of our minds the way Provence does.

And I'm sorry if I sounded "put out", just trying to clarify. Easy to misinterpret in email, isn't it?
