We will be renting a home in the area of Cavalaire the last week of October. Our friends (whom we are renting the villa with) will be able to pick us up at the airport upon arrival but are unable to drive us back for the return trip. What would you suggest we do to get back there? We have yet to make our airline reservations so we are open in terms of times. I believe the actual drive is about 90 minutes from the home to the airport. Does anyone know if there is a train station nearby or if we can hire a driver?

Any other suggestions on where to go and where to eat are welcome also. Thanks Fodorites!

Why don't you ask the villa rental agency for this information? They should be able to help you find a local driver or give you public transportation options.

Thanks for the input HappyTrvlr. I will definitely have our friends inquire through the rental agency. Kerouac, I have bookmarked that site. It will still be quite expensive for a transfer (over 200 euros) so we are looking into other options. Will keep that on the back burner for now.

If you can get a lift to Les Arcs, it might be an option for taking the train to Nice, although you have to take the navette from Nice station to the airport, it is pretty well organised.
