Getting to Catacombs of San Callisto
We (4 adults) are staying in the center of Rome near the train station in early October. We want to visit the Catacombs of San Callisto and would like to know the best way to get there. In particular, should we take a cab or bus? If a bus, which one? Also, we'd like to get an idea of how much a cab ride and bus ride would cost and how long it would take for each to there.
Thanks in advance!

We got the metro from Termini to San Giovanni, then the 218 bus to Largo Ardeatine. It's different on Sundays, because the Appian Way's closed to traffic: you get the metro to Circo Massimo, then the 760.
It was free, because it was all on our bus/metro pass. Severakl choices, and persinally I couodn't imagine taking a holiday in Rime without getting one for the whole period.
Last time, a three dayer was €11.
Getting a cab to the Appian Way's easy: but on Sundays it might be v difficult to get one back.

The hop on/off Archeobus bus will take you but not directly since it makes a local of other key sites in that part of Rome. Runs about every thirty minutes from the plaza in front of Termini. Sunday is the best time to do as most traffic, not all, is restricted. Buses still run and I think taxis also.
