getting married in Italy

My husband and I want to have a symbolic wedding ceremony in Venice. I would like to plan it myself. We have contacted several wedding planners but they are very expensive. It will just be my husband and myself...we need a photographer, flowers, and place for the ceremony. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Your hotel may have a concierge, or catering manager who handles weddings or may be able to make recommendations.

What kind of "place" were you considering . . . indoors? outdoors?

Read Statia's thread on her vow renewal ceremony in Venice. The Venice portion follows the lengthy report on Florence. Look for JULY 9.

Who are you planning to have conduct the ceremony? If you're Catholic you can;t get married again - but presumably can get a blessing on the marriage - but would need to arrange with the church/priest in advance. If you mean a civil ceremony - then you would have to identify who in the government can do this and organize.

Agree to start with the concierge of your hotel - but be aware that such ceremonies are not common in europe.

Nytraveler, I note the OP wants to have a symbolic wedding ceremony which I assume to mean not a real one. Am I correct, Mazie1?
