Getting frustrated - where to stay in Costa del Sol

Jump to last reply

We're looking for a place to spend 3 nights in early July (sans kids) on the southern coast of Spain. This part of our trip is for relaxing / pool time and wandering around with no set agenda.

I've been scouring the Internet for places to stay in Malaga/Marbella and Nerja and am getting frustrated. The perfect place would have a great pool and a room with a great terrace (jacuzzi would be awesome :) ). We like simple food so a decent breakfast is our only food requirement. We're not looking for honeymoon-style quiet, but are trying to escape tons of kids. Walking distance to town for eating/drinking/people watching would be a huge plus.

I've been looking at places like Los Monteros and Marbella Heights, but we also don't need to spend that kind of money if there are other nice options closer to town. I also ran across Gran Hotel Guadalpin that has a suite w/ a rooftop terrace w/ jacuzzi for roughly the same money. I actually think we would choose something closer to a nice town and give up the luxury if I could find it.

Experts, does anything immediately come to mind?
