Hi, everyone. We need some suggestions for getting from Prague to Bayreuth in mid-August. Is the easiest and fastest way to take a bus from Prague to Nuremberg and then the train from Nuremberg to Bayreuth, or is there a quicker, more-direct way (other than driving) that I haven't been able to find? Going entirely by train seems to take much longer. Is that correct?
Also, can anybody comment on the general conditions and comfort of the buses from Prague to Bayreuth?
Thank you for your help,
Dave

Don't forget the "student buses" from and to Prague. They seem to run all over Europe now and are very reasonable. We used them to go from Prague to Budapest a few years ago and it was less then $30.00 at the time with a hostess, drinks and a luxury bus.
Bus-train via Nürnberg is indeed the fastest connection.
I think I saw several postings here in the past with quite positive comments on the bus. It has 2 classes, snack bar, toilet.
What I found was this short video clip
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFI6kzFXb-k
The English version starts at around 3:45 minutes.
The buses are fine but it is a surprisingly boring journey. There are sockets in the bus so you may like to plug in your laptop and watch a movie. Just before getting on the bus just outside Prague train station, admire the historical part of the station - though probably best to avoid the coffee in the cafe there. Not the best in the world.
