Getting around the Greek Islands

Jump to last reply

my boyfriend and i have booked flights to and from athens to visit the greek islands for his 40th birthday in may. we have 14 days in greece. we like to explore, eat & drink, do moderate outdoor and water activities though i know the water will still be a bit cold when we visit. based on recommendations and some research we have chosen three islands to stay on: santorini, paros, and crete. since we want this to be truly a relaxing trip i am thinking as soon as we get to athens we head to santorini. i would like to visit this island first as i understand it's the most popular of the three and i'd like to unwind slowly as we get more comfortable.

do you suggest flying or taking the ferry from athens to santorini? next i guess it would make sense to ferry to paros. do we fly or ferry to chania, crete from paros? finally we get to athens via plane from crete the day before we take off back to home to ensure we make our return flight.

i find these forums super helpful so i appreciate any feedback and thoughts.

cheers!
