Germany one month leisurely drive

Jump to last reply

Hello , we are contemplating about one month trip to Germany from approximately mid-September. Thinking about starting North and finish in South beacuse of weather although I think Bavarian alps will not be that warm. But still I think Baltic Coast is better to start mid-Sept then Mid-Oct.
I've been in Germany many times, mostly in cities. My fiancee's it is a first time.
We want to visit majority of by car but also we will want to see cities : Hamburg, Berlin and Munich.
the plan is to fly into o Dusseldorf and return from Munich.
from Duseldorf going north To Bremen, Hamburg, Baltic Coast, Berlin/Potsdam (what do I do with car in Berlin??)
then to Leipzig, Erfurt, Nuremberg
have relatives in Nuremberg so have 1 week to spend there doing day trips
then south.
1 night overnight in Rothenburg to be there at night when tourist leave
Want to to 2 nights in Baden Baden and south to Black Forest, Lake Constance (Mainau), then to German/Austrian Alps - Think it will be detour from Nuremberg towards Bavaria on Romantic rd.

In Bavarian Alps want to stay 3-4 nights Fussen or Garmish.
Want to go to Salzburg and to Munich, drop car , spend few night there and fly home.

Any ideas how to incorporate this in one month - this wish list and what would be the sequence? I can also fly to Frankfurt - maybe easier to get to Baden/Baden and then going north ?

thanks!
