Driving roundtrip from Bamberg, Germany to Paris. Suggestions on an itenerary? Would like to stop on our return to Bamberg. We have 3 days for the return trip. Will be traveling with a teenager who would rather sit in a cafe then go to a museum (unfortunately). She would like to tour a castle. I know this is vague. Just trying to find a route that has places to stop. Thank you. Barb

Visit http://www.haut-koenigsbourg.fr/en in Alsace; plop your daughter down in a café on the main square of Nancy and then visit the city. Time alone might be good.

On an unrelated note, if you are in the Bamberg area for an extended time:

according to google maps, it's 775 kms each way, and you want to do that twice in 3 days?
Really? Why?
there are a number of castles in that area, [once you've got the route up on google maps, put castles into the search engine] but you really won't have time to visit them. Trifels near Annweiler in the southern Pfalz is very interesting but a bit off the most direct route.
there are places to stop all over this area - Saarbruecken is about halfway.
