Geiranger vrs Alesund

Jump to last reply

So we finally made a decision and this is what we are doing

Day 1 Oslo

Day 2 Norway in a nutshell starting from Oslo

Day 3 Bergen

Day 4 Bergen.. then Hurtigruten overnight boat to Alesund

Day 5 continuing with Hurtigruten from Alesund to Geiranger and now here is where we are stuck..

Here are our options

Overnight in Geiranger and spend the rest of day 5 and most of Day 6 in Geiranger returning the evening of Day 6 to Alesund flying to Stockholm day 7

OR do we return to Alesund after having about 4 hrs in Geiranger and use day 6 to spend more time in Alesund as we won't have much time there if we stay over in Geiranger

Will 4 hrs be enough time in Geiranger? are there some must see short trips to take from Geiranger to warrant our staying there the extra day OR are there just as many great things to see and do in Alesund to say better to go back there for the extra day.

We are doing a lot of running around and don't want an additional long day on a bus or train.

Thanks
