Gdansk in June w/ Toddler

We're visiting family in Gdansk in late June (I know it will be crazy w/ the soccer games, but this was the best time for us). I've been there several times when I was younger, so I've seen many things - but I'm wondering if anyone has any good ideas of things to do with a toddler (16 mos) in tow? So far we have these things in mind:

- day trip to Malbork Castle (not really toddler-friendly but can't miss this - Dh has never been)

- Old Town Gdansk

- Sopot & possibly the beach if weather is nice

..... any other ideas??? We will be visiting family a lot, but are looking for fun things to do. Also, is it easy enough to get around by ourselves via train/tram/bus? My family lives in Zaspa & I know there's busses & trains that run right by there - I've just never taken them on my own.. Thanks for any tips!
